Mitzy Kennis, Msc

Mitzy Kennis is a Ph.D. candidate at the University Medical Center Utrecht, within the psychiatry department. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and went on to receive a master’s degree in Neuroscience from Utrecht University.

Mitzy is intrigued by individual differences in experiencing and processing traumatic experiences, which underlie the development of PTSD. In her research, she studies the brain of veterans with PTSD, before and after trauma-focused therapy. In particular, studying direct effects of treatment on the brain and investigating mechanisms underlying treatment fascinate her.
